Shiyi Chen

My program of research focuses on the role of metacognition in early childhood science learning while simultaneously attending to teachers’ professional development. My laboratory-based research aims to investigate young children's emergent metacognition using a behavior coding method. My applied research translates studies on children's metacognition and self-regulated learning into instructional interventions to boost early science education.
