Biography & Scholarship

Dr. Gillespie's research focuses on professional learning opportunities for in-service mathematics teachers, with a focus on coaching as a mechanism for teacher learning. He has served as a coach, professional development specialist, and senior research personnel on multiple National Science Foundation funded projects focused on teacher professional development involving coaching. Additionally, Dr. Gillespie has served as the principal investigator and co-principal investigator on funded projects to provide professional learning opportunities for mathematics teachers working in rural contexts across Idaho.
