Biography & Scholarship

Felix Liao is an Associate Professor of Geography and GIS at the University of Idaho. He received his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Utah. His areas of expertise include GIScience, spatial data science, spatial econometrics, and their applications across various subfields of human geography, including regional development, urban and transportation planning, sustainable agriculture and food systems, land use and resource management, and public health. He periodically recruits graduate students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. or M.S. degree at the University of Idaho, a flagship R1 research institution in the state.
