Biography & Scholarship

Felix Liao is an Associate Professor of Geography and GIS at the University of Idaho. He obtained his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Utah, and his areas of expertise are GIScience, spatial data science, and their applications across various sub-fields of human geography, including economic development, urban and transportation planning, sustainable agriculture/food systems, land use, water sustainability, and geohealth.  He periodically recruits graduate students who want to pursue their Ph.D. or MS degree at the University of Idaho, a flagship R1 research institution in the state of Idaho.
