Abstract
This chapter explains one axis of problems with the popular climate solutions offered - that they focus on individual-level action in the face of a societal problem, ultimately encouraging apathy - and suggests an alternative vision for engaging in collective action that can enhance public will (and, in turn, political pressure) for implementing climate policy. Building off the ideas of postmodern feminism, the chapter examines how societies can make individual actions part of collective efforts to change cultural stories about climate change and mobilize public and political will to resolve the climate crisis.
