Abstract
Many homeowners and landowners have never had to manage a water well or septic system. This is highly problematic, because mismanagement harms the environment and the health of the private owner. The video series, Protecting the Source, addresses that knowledge gap. The first in the series, How Aquifers Work, presents the basics about aquifers what they are, Idaho s three sole-source aquifers, and how aquifer and well contamination occurs. Additional resources provide more options to find more information as needed.
