The results of the beef quality audits reported here will help beef producers to optimize the value of their market (cull) beef cows and bulls with the ultimate goal of improving the quality and consistency of market animals. The study collected data at 10 major livestock auctions in California, Idaho and Utah and identified factors that can result in premiums or discounts from as little as $1/cwt to as much as $16/cwt.
