Abstract

potatoes crop Agriculture - Crop Production Agriculture - On-Farm Testing Agriculture - Buildings & Equipment Agriculture
Potato bruising is costly. It lowers the quality of a crop, leading to customer rejections or direct waste. It's thus critical to quickly identify what is causing the injuries in your operation. This bulletin provides crucial tools (e.g., instrumented spheres) and detection methods (staining procedures) that will help you to recognize two bruising defects (shatter and blackspot bruising) and offers practices (including equipment modifications) that will help to minimize them.
