Abstract
Season-long control of weeds is an important goal when growing dry beans. Hairy nightshade, lambsquarters, redroot pigweed and green foxtail in particular harm bean yields in southern Idaho. This bulletin will help you to decide on a strategy to eliminate these pests. It discusses the results of two studies conducted in 2014-15 and 2016-17 at the University of Idaho Kimberly Research and Extension Center that examined the effect of different control methods, like row spacing, growth patterns (upright or viny), increased seeding rates and herbicide combinations (integrated weed management practice pairing).
