Although the USDA publishes lease rates for grazing on private rangelands in Idaho, little it known about the leasing details, services provided by landowners or other critical factors that influence the rates. This bulletin summarizes lease arrangements on Idaho's private rangelands based on a telephone survey of lessors and lessees conducted in the fall and winter of 2011-12. Analyses revealed statistically significant factors that influence lease rates along with regionally important differences.
