Abstract

Business Entrepreneurship Food Safety
Food-industry entrepreneurs are increasingly using chatbots to support critical and time-intensive tasks like writing food-safety plans, drafting Standard Operating Procedures, and other required documents. Building on Does ChatGPT Get Food Safety? (BUL 1079), this publication further explores and evaluates chatbots’ utility in the food industry by assessing ChatGPT’s ability to develop three prerequisite programs within a food-safety management system: a supply chain checklist, an integrated pest-control management program, and an internal audit program. The verdict? Chatbots are valuable time-savings tools, yet their results continue to contain enough inaccuracies requiring careful and expert review.
