Abstract
Polyampholyte hydrogels incorporating a novel dipeptide-based bis(methacrylamide) zwitterionic cross-linker (N-DAP-DAP-C) were synthesized and evaluated. N-DAP-DAP-C cross-linked hydrogels exhibited physical characteristics that were comparable to polyampholyte hydrogels formed with established zwitterionic cross-linkers. Further, N-DAP-DAP-C hydrogels demonstrated excellent resistance to Ralstonia pickettii adhesion during a 31-day evaluation.
