Abstract
In 2023, the Idaho Public Archaeology (IPA) program conducted an excavation on the grounds of Moscow High School. This excavation resulted in an abundance of archaeological material that gave insight into the lives of past high school students. In addition, a substantial amount of faunal remains was recovered that gave an opportunity to explore the foodways of the rural community in Moscow, Idaho. This master’s thesis explores those foodways from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A portion of the remains were analyzed to understand the consumption practices of residents that lived in a home at the edge of the school’s property. This analysis will add to the limited collection of research regarding northern Idaho foodways.
