Abstract
Sam Simmons is a novel about an elderly woman who locks herself in her room to avoid her obnoxious, distantly related nephew, while writing of the troubled past of the man he’s named for: her brother. Set in South Texas, Sam Simmons is concerned with ideas related to family history, naming, and the act of writing.
