Abstract
“Rescuing Pasquale” is the work comprising the songs from the musical comedy in two acts. Synopsys is based on a true story set in a small town. When Fizzy arrives for her vocal lesson with Pasquale, she finds his house locked, with the dogs howling inside. Remembering that her voice teacher has already suffered two strokes, she calls her handyman boyfriend, organizes the neighbors, and contacts the police. The concerned neighbors assist her boyfriend in removing the front door from its hinges. The police arrive just as the door is taken off, and everyone enters Pasquale’s house to rescue him. While searching for the “body,” they encounter Pasquale’s singing dogs, as well as the spirits of his grand piano (which allegedly belonged to Eleanor Roosevelt), his artistic creation “Beautiful John,” and the spirit of Maestro Marino Cremesini, Pasquale’s voice teacher. However, Pasquale himself is nowhere to be found. Suddenly, everyone hears Pasquale returning home in someone else's car. They quickly restore order, reattach the door to its hinges, and hide in the most ridiculous places. Pasquale approaches his front door, marveling at the neighborhood. He discovers Fizzy’s music binder by the door and realizes that she came for her lesson on the wrong day.
