Abstract
My artistic practice is digital and analog collage-making and deconstructing typographic forms through fragmentation and layering. Memory, place, and typography shape my work. I explore memories through typography to serve as both structure and symbol. Breaking down and reconstructing visual elements allows me to examine how memories are preserved, distorted, and reshaped over time. Language and memory evolve, erode, and reshape themselves, and I question how typography conveys meaning beyond function. The fluid nature of language remains central to my work by repurposing and altering found text to challenge the idea of typography as fixed. I experiment with mixed media, hand-cut collages, and digital manipulation. These techniques help me explore materiality and ephemerality. They allow me to experiment with layering unrelated elements to illustrate how memories accumulate and shift to alter perception. This perception implements disorder by creating chaos to reveal the complexities of the experience.
