Abstract
This short story collection follows a similar protagonist—sometimes named, sometimes nameless—who is seeking authenticity in queerness, community, romance, family, and art making. Oscillating between new-queer-weird fiction, speculative fiction, and auto-fiction genres, these stories are humorously pathetic in tone while grotesque and absurd in imagery. Through online dating snafus, traveling across apocalyptic landscapes, and intimate enmeshment with dogs, these narrators make earnest (yet sometimes misguided and questionable) attempts to connect to the world around them and find belonging.
