Abstract
This dataset contains temperatures measured in the shallow subsurface (0.20 m depth) in the vicinity of the Borax Lake Hot Springs, Alvord Basin, Harney County, Oregon, USA. The temperatures were measured on 2005-03-16, using Fluke 51-II digital thermometers and K-type thermocouples (20 cm heavy-duty penetration probes) on a 5 x 5 m grid. The data are provided as a tab-delimited ASCII file in modified Geo-EAS format: five header lines followed by three columns of data. The header lines are: 1. Title of the dataset; 2. the number of columns of data (3, in this case); 3. The name and units of the first variable (first column); 4. the name and units of the second variable; 5. the name and units of the third variable. The three columns of data are: UTM coordinates Northing (m), UTM coordinates Easting (m), Temperature (degrees C). The UTM coordinates given are all for UTM Zone 11N.
