Abstract
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (IDEQ) began systematic sampling of benthic macroinvertebrates in the early 1990s, along with assessments of biological and physical habitat conditions (the BURP dataset; Williams & Efta, 2024). Yearly monitoring efforts toward BMI collection by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Geological Survey (USGS), and Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (IDEQ) have been reported in numerous ecological studies to date.
