Abstract
Background: As childcare costs trend upwards of $10,000-$20,000 per year, families are forced to make difficult decisions in order to make ends meet. Within Montana specifically, the global pandemic resulted in over 60,000 unemployed workers; since 2020, nearly 20,000 Montana parents remain unemployed due to the exorbitant cost of childcare.
