Abstract

This paper investigates the phenomenon of output voltage collapse in dual-active half-bridge (DAHB) converters under load perturbations when conventional extremum seeking control (ESC) strategy is employed. To address this issue, an enhanced extremum seeking control (EESC) is proposed, which provides fast voltage reference tracking under large-signal dynamic transients. Similarly to ESC, the proposed EESC maintains the capability to perform online duty-cycle optimization to minimize input current and improve efficiency. The key advancement lies in extending the applicability of ESC beyond steady-state operation to critical dynamic scenarios. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through experimental results.
