Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of the benefits accrued from participation in leadership education, with a focus on outcomes related to leadership, academics and education, careers, and prosocial behaviors. We also describe how leadership education can be best positioned to drive K-12 and college students' learning and development. We conclude with recommendations for effective leadership education programs and a call for more research on the benefits of leadership education for youth.
