Abstract
This chapter summarizes and critiques commonly used approaches in
leadership research and challenges the reader to explore innovative
approaches. The authors provide an assessment of the state of
leadership learning and development research and offer succinct
overviews of critical, equity-based, and emergent methods and
approaches, which include discussion of possible applications to
future leadership research and resources for further
exploration.
